STONE ISLAND AW24 COLLECTION
Liam Gallagher has been a steadfast supporter of Stone Island, often seen in the brand at music festivals and in everyday life. His devotion is humorously highlighted by a 2017 tweet expressing his frustration over a stolen parka. Despite his long-standing relationship with the label, Gallagher has never participated in a Stone Island campaign—until now.
The brand has launched a new chapter of its “Community as a Form of Research” campaign, featuring Gallagher alongside a diverse group of artists: musician and skateboarder Sage Elsesser, DJ and producer Peggy Gou, and actor Russell Tovey. British photographer David Sims captures this eclectic mix, showcasing them in pieces from the latest collection. Gallagher notably wears a vintage sandy zip-up smock from the AW83-84 collection, setting him apart from the others.
Each participant answers a set of questions from art critic Hans Ulrich Obrist, providing personal insights alongside their portraits. Gallagher shares his favorite season and city while expressing gratitude for life. Similarly, the other artists also reflect on their preferences and inspirations, contributing to a rich tapestry of creativity.
This campaign's release is perfectly timed, as Gallagher recently reconciled with his brother Noel and announced the band's reunion for upcoming stadium shows. The involvement of these iconic figures is sure to excite fans as they look forward to the band's return and the creative energy encapsulated in this collaboration.
