INTRODUCING NEW BRANDS AW20: JIL SANDER AND DISCORD BY YOHJI YAMAMOTO

Every season we like to offer new brands to our clients. From established brands to upcoming designers, we're always on the lookout for the most relevant collections that suit and elevate our store concept.

JIL SANDER

With over 50 years in the fashion business, Jil Sander has become essential for fashion design collectors and aficionados. Minimalistic and contemporary the brand is an established powerhouse that influences modern fashion design creations.
The designer's first show in Paris, in 1975, was not acclaimed by the critics, but that didn't move her from working and growing the Jil Sander label and in 1989 the company became a public company with a worldwide presence and cemented minimalistic fashion.
Currently co-directed by Luke and Lucie Meier, a married couple with previous experience at the luxury fashion houses Balenciaga, Louis Vuitton, Dior, and Raf Simons, the label is now experiencing a resurgence in popularity with collections that lead the minimalism into the prominent aesthetic for upcoming seasons.

DISCORD BY YOHJI YAMAMOTO

Surely one of the most influential designers, Yohji Yamamoto is a major influence of dark futurism and minimalistic fashion.
With Discord, the goal is to bring Yohji's aesthetic into a line of accessories. A dark color palette, architectural shapes, and high-quality materials create a collection of shoes, bags, and small leather goods deeply influenced by the designer's Japanese heritage of elegance and graciousness. The word "Discordance" as the brand's name highlights the disharmony based on asymmetry that Yohji Yamamoto uses systematically throughout his creations.

RHUDE

Rhuigi Villaseñor is the director of Rhude, a fashion design label that uses luxury confection techniques applied to streetwear staples. Based in Los Angeles, the brand's concept is deeply interconnected with Rhuigi life experiences as an immigrant living in LA. The socioeconomics and cultural heritage of the designer influenced the brand's pieces that initially were all handmade by Rhuigi himself in his home. His mother, a tailor, provided a foundation of how to craft each piece and how to create a coherent and cohesive collection.
RHUDE’s journey parallels Villaseñor, chronicling the evolution of a man from adolescence to maturity, a narrative reflected each collection both the Creative Director and brand continue to grow-up with its ever-expanding fanbase, culminating in the most recent debut presentation during Paris Men’s Fashion Week for the Spring/Summer 2020 Collection.

KIDILL

“KIDILL” is a coined word and means pureness in chaos.
Inspired by 90’s subculture, hardcore punk, London punk, grunge, grafitti, skate boarding and modern literature. Based on these inspirations, KIDILL makes collections for outsiders who have modern new spirits.
KIDILL AW20 collection features a special collaboration with the English graphic artist Jamie Reid. The collaboration is made with Jamie Reid's private art collection from 1968-2018. Jamie Reid has created all the artworks for the legendary punk band Sex Pistols which has established the visual image of the London punk scene and still his artwork has a great impact and still remains an iconic existence.
The rebellious stance towards politics, society, and environmental destruction that Jamie Reid still communicates overlaps with many of the things that KIDHILL believes and has allowed looking deeper into the designer's thoughts through this collaboration.

WE11DONE

In March 2016, Jessica Jung and Dami Kwon introduced We11Done to their Seoul-based concept shop, Rare Market. The duo cast Man Repeller’s Leandra Medine to model their debut collection.
The label's concept is to reimagine the '00s era of western pop culture that was led by exuberant figures such as Paris Hilton. Even the logo is an homage to Von Dutch graphics, one of the main brands that marked that era. With bright colors and modern fits, We11Done aims to bring fun and a little extravagance into everyday streetwear.
